Ah, I have just lived the most amazing weekend of my entire life. Music + Sun + Worthy Farm = Absolute perfection. I'll try and make this quite short because I can't put into words how amazing it was.
Last Wednesday I got the coach from leeds at about 11am to go down to Glastonbury. I was so so tired since I went to Manchester the night beofore to go and see the Saturdays. They were £20 and it was a great night out with friends from work.. what can I say?! Haha, anyway it took us *12* hours to get there on Wednesday. The festival traffic was awful. Six of those hours was spent going just 10 miles! Ahh.
Anyway, got there tent up at 11p, etc. Was very hard since it was in the dark. Anyway, Thursday came and more of my friends arrived, set up, and we had a look around. One of my friends sisters and her b/f were there before us all so they found a great spot near the Pyramid stage. We met others aswell.. two 22 year old guys and two 33 year old women. It was great though because we all get on really well. We are planning to meet up again next year haha.
(I'll list my high lights)
The news of Michael Jackson dying reached us that night and that saddened us greatly, a true loss. But it was not getting to wreck our weekend. Anyway, Friday began and the first act to open the pyramid were Bjorn Again who were great XD Saw Regina Specktor later on in the day who was absolutely fantastic aswell. The best were still to come though! Later on Lily Allen played the Pyramid. Her crowd was *HUGE*! And she was so nervous... made me love her even more, she was so blown away though. We then legged it round to the Other Stage which took a while because of the crowds. Lady Gaga was performing there.. we got a great place and she agin was brilliant. So wierd but so talenented.
Saturday brought more amazing artists. My absolute highlight of Saturday though were The Script. I love there album anyway because it mean so damn much to me, and sums up so much for me personally and I was so so excited to see them live. And they did not let me down in anyway whatsoever. When they started I had a huge lump in my throat... and I don't care that they brought tears to my eyes, I had my sunglasses on LOL Its amazing what music can do to you, what emotions it covers. But they were just fantastic. I'm deffo going to get tickets if they tour again.
Bruce Springsteen was great that night too.. I don't know his music, but it didn't matter. I love it now. I feel so priveleged to see an absolute legend.
Sunday again was awesome and brought me another highlight. I'm not too fussed on Blur. Luckily The Black Eyed Peas were performing that night on The Jazz World Stage. We wanted front row places so we got there 2 hours early.. and got front row straight away! The wait was long, but an awesome african band played called Amadou et Mariam, or something. Brilliant stuff, great drumming. Gonna look them up for their music. Anyway, BEP were *MINDBLOWING*. They had so so so so so much energy and the reception they got was fantastic. Fergie came down to the audience railings and we were just a metre away. She is so so tiny but so damn sexy. I love her, and Will.I.Am came down to the railings aswell. Absolute legend. Whoever says they are bad live needs to see them live before they judge. So much engery. And they did a massive mix of michael jackson music which went down so well.
I have missed alot out here and just agev some of my personal highlights. I saw so many acts I can't name them all! But it was a brilliant weekend and will be deffo going next year. :)
